Complete Home Weather Centers |
|
|
You can find a good selection of home weather centers from La Crosse Technology and Oregon Scientific. In the near future we will also be offering professional home weather centers by Davis Instruments.
The best home weather centers are easy to set up, requiring only a few minor assembly steps and mounting of the sensors. Complete home weather centers typically come equipped with three outdoor sensors, allowing for constant monitoring of temperature, humidity, wind speed/direction and rainfall data. Some home weather centers also have extra channels that accept up to three additional sensors.
Transmission range is another critical factor when browsing for home weather centers. Most of the Oregon Scientific and La Crosse weather centers offer a transmission range of up to 330' in direct line of sight, which is sufficient in most applications. Davis Instruments wireless weather centers offer transmission distances of 1000' or more.
Most home weather centers offer barometric pressure along with charting of pressure changes as well as basic forecasting. Both indoor and outdoor humidity and temperature should be included in your wireless weather centers along with rainfall data and wind speed and direction. Common calculated functions for home weather centers are minimum and maximum daily values and the best home weather centers will calculate wind chill, dew point and heat index. Complete home weather centers will also include data logging capabilities, allowing the home weather centers to connect directly to your home computer. |
