Professional Weather Stations - Find Your Ideal Complete Weather Station |
|
If you're interested in all aspects of weather forecasting and recording, one of our complete weather stations will likely have the features you're looking for at an affordable price. These weather stations monitor a comprehensive set of weather conditions, and provide valuable weather information (from around your home) that is not available on your local television weather network. There are many practical applications for a complete home weather station. For example, rainfall data can be used to help you decide when to water your garden or lawn, and all the information the system gathers can be uploaded to your home computer where you can analyze seasonal weather patterns.
We offer a good selection of complete weather stations from two manufacturers, Oregon Scientific and La Crosse Technology. La Crosse professional weather stations monitor and display indoor and outdoor temperature and humidity, barometric pressure, precipitation, wind speed and wind direction. Most complete weather stations let you transfer weather data to your home computer by connecting to the station with a cable; these weather stations also include software that lets you analyze the weather data, chart graphs and make observations over a longer period of time.
A complete weather station should be easy to set up, requiring only a few minor assembly steps and mounting of the sensors. These weather stations typically come equipped with a base receiver and three outdoor sensors allowing for constant monitoring of temperature, humidity, wind speed, wind direction and rainfall data. Some weather stations come with outdoor sensors that operate on solar power and have extra channels allowing them to accept additional sensors. Each sensor gathers a specify set of weather measurements and the data is sent back to the base station either by wireless 433 MHz frequency signal or cable connection.
Transmission distances is another critical factor when considering your purchase. For home use a transmission range of 300' is sufficient in most applications. Oregon Scientific and La Crosse professional weather stations all feature a transmission range of up to 330' in direct line of sight. For professional applications such as in farming, hospitals, schools, or public service weather monitoring transmission distances of 1000' or more may be required. |
